RECENT OBITUARIES Thomas J. Kelly, Sr. Thomas J. Kelly, Sr., 75, of Hillside, N.J. passed away on Friday, February 13, 2009 at the Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, N.J. Mr. Kelly was the Loving Husband of Barbara (nee Sweeney) Kelly. Devoted Father of Thomas J. Kelly, Jr., Nancy K. Emmer, and Patrick M. and Michael J. Kelly. Dear Brother to Winifred Steil and the Late Catherine Garrity. Also survived by five Grandchildren.. Born in Newark, where he lived till he moved to Hillside forty one years ago. He was a Fire Fighter in Newark for twenty five years before retiring in 1987. Mr. Kelly served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict, from 1953 to 1955. Mr. Kelly was a member of the K of C Council # 3197, Hillside-Springfield 2004 Elks Club, Founding Member of the Union County Irish American Association, Union County Emerald Society of Kenilworth, VFW Post # 1851 of Newark and the Joseph Nugent Association of Elizabeth. Funeral from the Growney Funeral Home, 1070 North Broad Street, Hillside, N.J. on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 8:45 AM. The Funeral Mass will be held at The Church of St.Catherine of Siena, Hillside. NJ. At 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, 3:00 - 7:00 PM. Interment will be at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, N.J.
