RECENT OBITUARIES Thomas P. Fricchione Thomas P. Fricchione, 64 of Jersey City, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at his home in Jersey City, N.J. Tom was the loving father of Cheryl Fricchione, Justine Fricchione and her fiancé Frank Martinez and the late Courtney Fricchione. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Anna Fricchione. Dear Brother of Dr. Donald Fricchione, Frank Fricchione and Anne Marie Fricchione. Also survived by his former Wife Lynda and nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Mr. Fricchione was a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He was the Assistant Director for the Hudson County Department of Corrections for the past seven years. He was a former Administrator, Guidance Counselor and Teacher for the Jersey City Board of Education for over thirty years, retiring in 2002. He also served as a Councilman in Jersey City from 1981 – 1989. Mr. Fricchione was a man of principle and hard work who was the driving force behind many community outreach programs. He constantly donated his time, money and energy to benefit the people of Jersey City and the greater Hudson County Area. In particular, he was the Founder and Standard Bearer of the A-Team Civic Association, a Member of the Knights of Columbus Paulus Hook Council # 475, the Jersey City Moose Lodge # 266 and the Bill O’Dea Neighborhood Association. He also sponsored teams in the Babe Ruth League and the Lincoln Park Little League. The Visitation will be held at the Growney Funeral Home 1070 North Broad Street, Hillside, N.J. on Saturday, December 26, 2009 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and Sunday, 2:00 to 8:00 PM. The Funeral will be from the Funeral Home on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 8:00 AM. The Funeral Mass will be held at the 10:00 AM at St. Paul’s R.C. Church, 14 Greenville Avenue, Jersey City, N.J.
