RECENT OBITUARIES Eugene J. Ferguson Eugene J. Ferguson, 79 of Elizabeth, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011 at his home. Beloved husband of Margaret (Nee Kuemmel) Ferguson. He will be deeply missed by his children, Linda Ferguson of Elizabeth, Glenn and Judy Ferguson of Hamilton Square, Laura and Chris Menza of Hillside, Gary and Joanne Ferguson of Allamuchy and Maryann and Manny Herrera of Monmouth Junction. Devoted brother of Frank and Renee Ferguson and Gerald and Marie Ferguson. Loving grandfather of David and Lynda Ferguson, Christopher Menza, Riley and Cooper Ferguson, Daniel, Dylan, Alyssa and Kayla Herrera. His passions in life were spending time with his family and friends, making people laugh and finding people jobs. Mr. Ferguson was born in NY, NY and grew up in Brooklyn prior to moving to Elizabeth 53 years ago. Gene proudly served his country during the Korean War. He was the Chief of Human Resources at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital for 10 years before retiring to New Port Richey FL in 1995. Prior to that he worked at Gulf + Western Industries and GAF in NYC as Director of EEO. He was a member of the Union Elks Lodge #1583 and the Amvets in New Port Richey FL. He also served on the President's Commission for the Employment of the Handicapped in Washington DC. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Genevieve’s Church, 200 Monmouth Rd, Elizabeth, NJ on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Arrangements were handled by the Growney Funeral Home, 1070 North Broad St, Hillside NJ. Donations can be made to Runnells Specialized Hospital, Berkeley Hts or the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
