(nee Hathaway/Gordon) Azzara, 87 of Newton, formerly of Hillside, N.J. passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Bristol Glen Nursing Home in Newton, N.J. Born on May 11, 1923 to Frank C. and Mildred E. Hathaway in Newark, N.J. She resided in Hillside, Irvington, Toms River and the last 10 years she resided at Barn Hill Care Center in Newton, N.J. Mrs. Azzara was the Beloved Wife of Late Fred Azzara. Devoted Mother of Dennis and his Wife Christina, Karl Gordon and his Wife Kathleen and Step Mother of Fred Azzara and his Wife Janet. Dear Sister of the Late Kenneth and Andrew Hathaway and Loving Grandmother to Christy, Rachel, Jason, Justin, Patty and Anthony. A Funeral Service will be held at the Growney Funeral Home 1070 North Broad Street, Hillside, N.J. on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 12:00 Noon. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Hillside, N.J. The visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Barn Hill Care Center, 249 High Street, Newton, N.J. would be appreciated.
